Jubilant now brings full accessibility to your legacy apps — with real-time ARIA tagging, screen reader support, and standards compliance out of the box.
Accessibility You Can Actually Use
Jubilant has always been unique in rendering traditional mainframe and midrange interfaces (5250, 3270, and VT) as live HTML — enabling web-based access without compromising the underlying business logic.
But now, we’ve gone further.
We’ve embedded ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) tags directly into our dynamically generated HTML screens. This allows screen readers and other assistive technologies to not only read the terminal content, but also understand the purpose, role, and interaction model of each screen element.
For example:
- Input fields are labeled appropriately
- Navigation elements are identified as such
- Alerts and state changes can be detected by assistive devices
This fundamentally transforms the accessibility of terminal-based applications — delivering an experience that is natively compatible with modern screen readers, including NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver.
Regulatory Alignment
With the addition of structured ARIA tagging, Jubilant is now aligned with key global and institutional accessibility standards, including:
- WCAG 2.1 AA
- Section 508 (U.S. federal accessibility requirements)
- ADA Title III (for digital service delivery in public-facing applications)
- EN 301 549 (EU standard for public-sector IT accessibility)
This means institutions in government, education, healthcare, and financial services can deliver critical legacy functionality without creating accessibility gaps — no rewrites, no workarounds.
